Part One
Adult Volunteer Waiver & Release (Ages 18+)
By checking the "I agree" box on our volunteer sign-up form, you agree to all items outlined below and, in effect, are signing this waiver digitally. You, the Signer:
A. Read the Document: have read (or had someone read to you) this document in its entirety.
B. Agreement to Terms: agree to all terms, conditions, policies, and rules of conduct detailed herein.
C. Media Release: authorize One Giving Tree to use your likeness in pictures and videos for use on social media and websites managed by One Giving Tree and its third-party vendors.
D. Voluntary Participation: acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in activities organized by One Giving Tree, which may include the preparation and distribution of Christmas tree kits.
In consideration for being permitted to participate in these activities, I agree to assume all risks and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities, and I release, absolve, indemnify, and hold harmless One Giving Tree, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, damages, or claims arising out of my participation.
I grant permission to One Giving Tree to use my likeness in photographs, video recordings, or other media for promotional purposes, and to retain my personal information (email, cell phone, home address and phone number as needed) to contact me about volunteer activities, updates, and future opportunities.

Part Two
Policies and Rules of Conduct
1. Safety and Awareness
1.1 Use of Power Tools: volunteers may be required to use power tools while creating Christmas tree kits. All volunteers using power tools must undergo proper training and follow safety guidelines; One Giving Tree will provide necessary safety equipment.
1.2 Weather Awareness: activities may take place in various weather conditions. Volunteers should dress appropriately and stay aware of changing conditions. One Giving Tree reserves the right to modify activities based on weather for everyone's safety.
1.3 Awareness of Surroundings: volunteers must stay aware of their surroundings, the activities of other volunteers, and any potential hazards, and should report safety concerns to the designated supervisor.
2. Family-Friendly Environment
2.1 Respect and Inclusion: One Giving Tree prioritizes a family-friendly environment that respects individuals of all ages, faiths, and ethnicities. Volunteers are expected to treat one another with kindness, respect, and inclusivity.
2.2 Assistance and Collaboration: experienced volunteers may offer assistance to new volunteers to help them learn processes and tasks. Volunteers are encouraged to collaborate and ask for help when needed.
2.3 Alcohol and Drug Free Environment: One Giving Tree "Tree Days" are zero-tolerance drug- and alcohol-free workdays. One Giving Tree reserves the right to ask any volunteer suspected of being under the influence to leave the premises immediately.
2.4 General Behavior and Safety: if One Giving Tree volunteers or managers feel unsafe due to a volunteer's behavior, One Giving Tree will not hesitate to engage emergency services or local authorities to resolve the situation.
3. Task Competency
3.1 Training Requirement: volunteers should only perform tasks they have been adequately trained for. If uncertain about a task, volunteers must seek guidance from a supervisor or a more experienced volunteer.
4. Event Participation
4.1 Tree Days: "Tree Days" take place over one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in late November or early December — typically the last weekend of November or the first weekend of December, depending on how the calendar falls that year. Exact dates will be announced ahead of each season. Volunteers are expected to commit to the full duration of the event, including set-up and clean-up.
4.2 Year-Round Opportunities: additional volunteer opportunities may arise throughout the year, and volunteers may choose to participate in events that suit their availability.
I have read and understood the Policies and Rules of Conduct outlined above.
Part Three A
Minor Volunteers, Ages 10–11 — Accompanied Volunteering Required
A parent or legal guardian must also register as a volunteer and remain physically present on-site, directly supervising the minor for the entire duration of every activity the minor takes part in. The accompanying parent or guardian is responsible for the minor's safety and conduct at all times, and the minor may not be dropped off or left unsupervised.
By checking "I agree" on the sign-up form, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor volunteer named on that form, that I will remain on-site and directly supervise my child throughout all volunteer activities, and that I agree to the terms of the Waiver (Part One) and the Policies and Rules of Conduct (Part Two) on behalf of my child, in addition to my own participation as a volunteer.
Volunteers under 10 are not eligible to volunteer independently and are only welcome as companions to a fully participating parent/guardian.
Part Three B
Minor Volunteers, Ages 12–17 — Parental Authorization & Waiver
Volunteers ages 12 through 17 may participate without a parent or guardian remaining on-site, provided a parent or legal guardian completes this authorization. By checking "I agree" on the sign-up form, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor volunteer named on that form, I authorize their participation in One Giving Tree volunteer activities, and I agree to the terms of the Waiver (Part One) and the Policies and Rules of Conduct (Part Two) on my child's behalf.
Drop-off & Pick-up: I understand that I am responsible for the drop-off and pick-up of my child at the designated times and location for each volunteer activity. If someone other than myself will be dropping off and/or picking up my child, I will identify that person on the sign-up form and confirm they are authorized to do so.
